Juvederm Injectable Dermal Filler

Juvederm is a hyaluronic acid filler that can improve the elasticity and plumpness of skin which may minimize or reduce the appearance of wrinkles.  When we are young, our skin is very elastic and supported by underlying tissues that are rich in hyaluronic acid.  These stores of hyaluronic acid are depleted as we age at the rate of about 1% per year.  As our naturally occurring hyaluronic acid stores are reduced, the elasticity of our skin is reduced which can result in wrinkles and deep lines around our mouth, eyes and brow. Juvederm is most often used around the mouth to minimize wrinkles and improve droopy smiles.  Juvederm is NOT used around the eyes and on the brow or forehead area.  Botox is a more appropriate product for the areas above the nose.
