Endodontic treatment is a service offered by Northwoods Dental.

Often called “root canals” endodontic treatment becomes necessary when the pulp tissue inside the tooth becomes inflamed or infected.

This inflammation or infection can be caused by deep decay, a cracked or chip in the tooth or a blow to the tooth.

If left untreated, the inflamed or infected tissue can develop into an abscess or become very painful.

Timely endodontic treatment can save a tooth because the inflamed and infected tissue is removed and the space is then filled and sealed.  After the decay is removed, the infected and inflamed pulp is removed and the space is filled, patients can return to the Northwoods Dental cosmetic dentist and have a crown or other restoration placed on the tooth which will restore it to full function.
